The Ali Forney Center: “Queer Brick”

At Wieden+Kennedy, a small ERG launched a powerful Stonewall-inspired campaign to support the Ali Forney Center and its mission of aiding homeless LGBTQ+ youth.

Central to the initiative was the creation and auction of a symbolic 'Queer Brick,' embodying the resilience and solidarity of the community. The campaign not only raised over $20K for homeless and at-risk youths but also sparked crucial conversations about LGBTQ+ homelessness and the ongoing fight for equality and acceptance.

The brick came with detailed instructions on use:

“Do not throw this brick. Do use it to tear things down when necessary.
But then,
Do use it to rebuild.
Do use it to create new structures.
Do use it to pave new roads.”
